We took Louenhide’s complex old site and made it sophisticated and sleek.
Louenhide is a luxury brand with a complex website that was a bit like a classic Rolls Royce. It looked beautiful but needed a lot of work under the hood.
Updates were a challenge for our client, and they had a recurring list of issues that were constantly being patched up but never permanently fixed. That’s where we came in.
We performed a comprehensive business analysis at the start of the project and offered our client the smartest way to change their processes.
Let’s get real
We pride ourselves on being open and honest with our clients, and on offering the best advice in the business. Our client wanted us to manage their existing Magento site, and to help them troubleshoot the complex issues that came with it.
While we could easily do that, we spoke to our client at length about their challenges, and had a look at the back end of the site, and then we suggested something that would save time and money in the long run: moving the site onto WordPress.

How to avoid failure
Our client took the leap with us and let us transfer their Magento site onto WordPress. They had a sophisticated product management ERP (enterprise resource planning) that was specific to their business, so we carefully custom built the functionality to operate on the new WordPress site.
We broke it down into several parts and used as much standard WordPress plug-in behaviour as we could to avoid having to create a lot of custom code. Custom code is great when you want to create bespoke components, but it can also be volatile and cause the site to fail when basic WordPress updates are applied. After their problems with the original site, we wanted our client to have a site that was stable and reliable – so their customers could find what they want and buy it easily.
Finding savings
We performed a comprehensive business analysis at the start of the project and offered our client the smartest way to change their processes. That included migrating their shipping from internal services to external services, and winding back their hosting infrastructure to something much more efficient, reducing their monthly spend by over 80 per cent.
A happy outcome
Where they were previously hamstrung by technology, having to rely on us to make even minor changes, Louenhide now has control over their own easy-to-use site. They can update their content, run up-to-date secure code bases, and be supported by a much wider range of vendors, including off-shore, which considerably reduces their maintenance costs.
