We helped Caravanning Queensland realise their huge potential with a brand new website.
Modernising a classic brand
We met Caravanning Queensland after they were referred to us, and we started maintaining their Umbraco site. But what we quickly saw was the huge potential they were missing out on by having a website with not enough functionality for their complex needs.
Having worked with big brands such as Tourism Queensland and others that go beyond selling straight products online, we had a vision of how we could help Caravanning Queensland tap into its potential and streamline their online services.
Operation Rebuild
We proposed to our client that we rebuild their website and move it across to WordPress, which would give them easier access to support and service, and they agreed to place their trust in us. The big challenge was that the site had to be able to store a lot of data, extracting information from visitors and keeping them on the site for longer. Our client originally had a separate website for caravan shows, and we showed them how we could combine the two sites to take advantage of website traffic, while still maintaining their page rankings.

Many hands make light work
We also gave the new website the functionality to allow external service providers such as caravan parks and trade suppliers to update their own information on the site, helping it to stay up-to-date and informative for visitors. Although they could do this on the old site, it was clunky and difficult to navigate, with few fields to fill in. The new site offers GPS mapping, photos, and a range of features and pricing.
Business analysis is key
Key for us was to truly understand our client’s business, so we performed a thorough analysis of their requirements, and presented our proposal back to them. Although our wireframes were helpful, it wasn’t until we reached interface design stage that our client really understood our vision, so we made that an iterative process where we worked together to ensure the best functionality across the site.
A more relatable site
What we achieved, working alongside our client, is a website that is more relatable to its users, as well as being easier to edit and upload information to for the client and their stakeholders. The site now retains users for longer and helps our client gather much more data.
What we did for this client is nothing new. For 17 years, we’ve honed our skills and processes to ensure we nail incredibly complex projects such as this one. The secret to our success is that we work through all the complexities of a project, building the jigsaw as we go.
