How we do it
Over the years, we have developed a tried and tested workflow process and methodology which ensures projects run smoothly. The full process is detailed below.
Brief & Brainstorm
Outcome/outputs: Project brief including goals and KPIs, introduction to key stakeholders, milestones & timeframe gantt chart, next steps recommendations.
It is critical for us to get to know our clients business and more deeply understand their goals, pain points, key stakeholder feedback and current systems successes/failures/opportunities. We know our clients have a significant amount of intel, knowledge and documentation that we can access.
Our brief & brainstorm enables us to:
- get to know our client and their team;
- understand the specifics of our clients requirements in more detail; and
- work with our client to brainstorm project goals and opportunities to achieve business objectives.
Analyse, Diagnose, Plan & Report
Outcome/outputs: Blueprint document detailing the plan for production of the project.
We have many years of experience in business analysis and undertake comprehensive reviews of the information provided to us in the brief & brainstorm stage. We also review business background material, content and technology so that we are able to a provide a baseline and build recommendations.
Research
We gain an understanding of the business through
research including:
- staff experience and pain points via intel that our client and their team provide us through staff engagement sessions;
- the funnelling process, such as the different levels of engagement, where/what are the calls-to-action and ‘conversion points’;
- Communication pathways – analysing what’s working, what’s not; and
- Content, tone-of-voice, brand consistency.
Blueprint document
From the workshops and experience research we will design the Blueprint for production. This is a document that thoroughly specifies all aspects of the design and development phases and will include:
- workshop summary that includes key findings and evaluation of workshop content and synopsis of outcomes;
- wireframes and top level navigation workflows;
- content management specification: platform, user roles, workflows, forms, security and key functionality; and
- all other technical and development requirements
Design & Development
Outcome/outputs: Interface or graphic design. Development of project.
The full user experience and interface design and development begins once the Blueprint has been finalised and signed off.
From moodboard to overarching concepts and full blown detailed interfaces we work with our client to ensure the design of the solution stays true to the brand requirements and provides an engaging and fulfilling user experience.
User Acceptance Testing
Outcome/outputs: Confirmation of site functional, user experience and technical working as expected.
In the final stage before golive, we test the solution within the browsers and devices outlined in the blueprint document. We ensure everything is working and behaving as expected and to the specifications outlined in the brief.
At that point we hand over to our client for user acceptance testing (UAT). This is a chance for our client and their key stakeholders to test their solution thoroughly. UAT is a crucial phase and we work together to ensure all feedback is collated and addressed in a controlled process.
As part of our procedures we include the UAT as a critical milestone that must be completed prior to golive. That way we can make fixes, where required, and ensure the best possible outcome at golive time.
Golive & Delivery
Outcome/outputs: Product deployed and live. Backups and monitoring enabled. Handover and training to key personnel.
Hosting
We’ve worked with, specified, setup, used and maintained enterprise level hosting solutions. Our client, Sonic Healthcare, has used our services to setup hosting on their highly secured network.
Backups
We work with a number of backup systems. We work with our clients team to evaluate backup and failover strategies when required.
Handover and training
One of the most important things we can do to ensure the optimal performance and longevity of your site, is to handover and train our client and their team thoroughly.
The practical and hands-on training session is carried out at the Mettro premises with key staff. We also provide detailed handover documentation via our portal Content Love.
Monitor, Maintain
Outcome/outputs: Regimented support process with senior team at disposal.
Once the solution has been delivered or achieved golive we provide our clients with our support and maintenance to ensure the solution is monitored and maintained over the long haul. Our services include ad-hoc support as well as pre-packaged monthly support at discounted rates.
