A Website Design and Build for Australia’s Medical Matchmakers

The Background

Cornerstone Medical Recruitment (CMR) wanted to be seen as medical matchmakers, not just another recruitment agency, but their old site told a different story. Mettro rebuilt the site on WordPress with a mobile friendly design, and a content management setup that lets the CMR team update job listings the same day instead of waiting weeks.

The Problem

CMR matches medical professionals with employers across Australia, looking past the role itself to workplace culture, lifestyle, and personal fit. The old website didn’t carry that story. It looked dated, struggled on mobile, and felt like every other recruitment site in the category.

The bigger issue sat behind the scenes. Every job listing update had to go through their previous developers, which meant a wait of weeks for changes that needed to happen in days. In a market where roles open and close quickly, that lag costs CMR live opportunities and makes the team look slow to candidates and employers alike. They needed control of their own content and a site that actually sounded like them.

Our Approach

Mettro started with the brand. Workshops with the CMR team unpacked who they were talking to, what made their service different, and how the matchmaking positioning should feel on the page. That groundwork shaped every design and content decision that followed.

The site was rebuilt on WordPress, chosen specifically so the CMR team could edit pages, update copy, and push out new listings without going through a developer. The recruitment software they already used was integrated into the site, so listings, applications, and the candidate journey felt like one experience rather than a handoff between systems.

On the design side, the old stock-heavy look was replaced with emotive photography that CMR commissioned, showing the kind of life candidates step into when the match is right. A cleaner banner gave the homepage a confident, modern entry point. Navigation was simplified so job seekers and employers can reach what they need in a click or two, not a scavenger hunt. The job search field was rebuilt to make finding roles faster, and calls to action were brought front and centre with short, easy forms so enquiries actually convert.

Every page was built with user experience in mind and optimised for mobile, since a large share of medical professionals browse roles on their phone between shifts. The result behaves the same on a phone, a tablet, and a desktop.

The Result

CMR can now update their own website, the same day, without raising a ticket. Listings go live when roles open. Copy changes when the message shifts. The team has direct control over the channel that drives most of their candidate enquiries, and the operational drag of waiting on a third party is gone.

The site looks and reads like CMR’s positioning, not a generic recruitment template. Candidates see the lifestyle and the fit, not just a job title and a salary band. Employers see a partner that takes matchmaking seriously. The cleaner navigation, sharper search, and prominent forms have made the path from landing on the site to making contact noticeably shorter.
