The Background
Kidz Bedding began as a business venture between Mettro’s founder and a business partner, with the goal of creating a premium children’s bedding brand that celebrated the joy, imagination and personality of childhood.
They believed the market had become safe and predictable, when childhood is anything but. Their vision was to create a premium brand filled with colour, creativity and character, giving parents an alternative to the muted, conventional designs that dominated the category.

The Challenge
Launching an ecommerce business from scratch means every decision matters. There was no existing brand, no website, no customer base and no marketing to build on.
The challenge was to create a business that felt established from day one. Every element, from the brand identity and product range through to the website and marketing, needed to work together to build trust, attract customers and support long-term growth.
Our Strategy
The strongest ecommerce brands are built around what customers want.
Keyword research helped shape the initial product strategy, identifying the children’s bedding themes with the strongest search demand and helping prioritise which product ranges to launch first.
From there, we developed the complete brand identity, including the logo, colour palette, style guide, custom illustrations and characters that gave Kidz Bedding a distinctive personality. The Shopify store was then designed and built around that identity, creating a customer experience that felt playful, engaging and easy to shop.
The launch extended well beyond the website. We developed the marketing copy direction, Google Ads, email marketing, social media assets and the supporting systems needed to help the business grow, creating a complete ecommerce ecosystem rather than simply launching an online store.

The Results
Kidz Bedding launched with a distinctive brand, a fully featured Shopify store and a complete marketing ecosystem designed to support long-term growth. Customers connected with the playful identity, online sales began quickly and the early Google Ads campaigns delivered encouraging returns.
Unfortunately, ongoing supply chain issues outside the owners’ control ultimately brought the business to a close. While the business itself didn’t survive, the project proved what can be achieved when brand, product strategy, ecommerce and marketing are developed as one connected system from the very beginning.
